** Marshmallow Root - Contains lauric acid, like the medium-chain fatty acids present in coconut oil which give the fruit its outstanding list of health benefits. Marshmallow root is also rich in mucilage, a natural hair detangler. These mucilages, which are used to coat and smooth the hair strand, it is really closing the cuticle creating hair that is shinier and neater. This mucilage binds to the proteins to make strands look thicker also. The slippery substance is a very effective hair detangler and conditioner. Because of its moisturizing properties, it is very helpful for dry and damaged hair as well. Marshmallow root also has low concentrations of ceramide precursors, a natural hydrator and helps with repairing the skin barrier.
