Being that many questionable products are advertised targeting this age group, parents wouldn't suspect that they are unsafe for their children!
This is why many parents are unknowingly buying these products for their children-teens that contain strong, concentrated, chemicals and active ingredients like, retinol/vitamin A, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic, other exfoliating acids and more, that they, 1. simply don't need and 2. are possibly damaging their delicate skin. Even the inclusion of certain oils may actually clog pores and cause acne breakouts. Along with the pricey, bevy of other sketchy ingredients included in unnatural products (and, “natural” ones too!).
The problems that can arise vary, but include adverse reactions and possible long-term skin damage, scars, photo sensitivity, allergic reactions/future intolerances, eye/skin irritations, lesions, peeling, redness and burns!
