We already know coffee can make us feel awake but, can it wake up our skin? Let’s Tawk!

Of course, most of our health lies in our lifestyle choices and this is evident in our appearance. Getting enough sleep, exercise, fluids, and nutrients through diet is the best way to make our skin glowing and healthy. But, since our skin can also receive some benefits topically, why not utilize the nutrients from our foods and drinks on the outside too. Of course, coffee is a great way to wake up and gets the heart pumping, but it has swiftly grown in popularity as a great skincare ingredient!

And, here’s why:

Coffee is an amazing antioxidant, necessary for keeping skin protected from the elements, especially the damaging effects of the sun. It contains properties that may help to protect against the most common form of skin cancer.

It contains vitamin B3, which topically, helps reduce wrinkles, fade age spots and hyper-pigmentation, and helps heal acne.

Coffee has also been found to stimulate circulation, which can reduce swelling, eliminate the appearance of uneven skin and visible blood vessels. These characteristics make it a great ingredient for under-eye circles and bags, cellulite and dandruff/hair loss.

Very recent studies have found that black pepper may contribute more of the same benefits of coffee by also supplying skin with antioxidants and boosting circulation. Black pepper is also an antibacterial, which means it cleans the skin and can help rid it of acne causing bacteria.

According to researchers in London, the piperine found in black pepper is now being used as an alternative to the harsh chemicals that usually treat the skin disorder Vitiligo. It also contains many vitamins like E, C, K and Magnesium which can aid in calming the muscles, toning and oxygenating the skin.

Aside from all of the great assets these two powerhouse ingredients possess, they also have a fantastic scent! This is why we had to incorporate both into a few of our formulas!
